Early morning light spills across high meadows and groves of sculpted hemlock in Oregon’s Jefferson Park Wilderness. The magic of this place is boundless and feels like a little piece of heaven when conditions are right and the mosquitoes are gone. It’s also a changing landscape, caught between the natural transition of meadows into forest, the threat of wildfire, and over-use by the many backpackers - like me - who love this place. “Jefferson Meadow Morning” brings a bit of the mountains’ magic into our daily lives and remind us why special places like Jefferson Park are so important.

This work was created using a digital media technique developed by the artist called “dynamic patternism.” The name describes the result as well as the set of rules that guide the harmonious blending of colors and shapes into a compelling image.
