Few places feel as calm and undisturbed as Waldo Lake and the nearby Diamond Peak Wilderness. The morning sun splashes a bit of rose across the sprawling volcano of Diamond Peak, reflected in the calm, crystal clear waters. I love the sculptural quality of volcanic rocks and lodgepole pine against the geometry of the mountain, and the sense of space it offers. It captures the essence of the region.
