Just a short hike inland from the coast, Gwynn Creek flows through a prehistoric cathedral of ancient trees and head-tall ferns inhabited by Roosevelt elk and black bear. Light pours into the tree canopy, nearly all of its energy captured by outstretched leaves and boughs, before filtering through to the cool creek in a few glowing patches. The painting captures the magical serenity of this special place with bold colors and brushstrokes.
