Mt. Hood in midday glory, seen from high on the flanks of Mt. Jefferson. I love how the cloud layer creates two worlds, one above and one below. Having stood once on the summit of Mt. Hood in January, the distance to the “world below” feels just that remote. This painting expresses the darkness and indigo hues of the PNW forest characteristic of our region, as well as the brightness and clarity that lie hidden just above the clouds.
