Perdition Ridge No.2
Perdition Ridge No.2
2021
ACRYLIC ON CANVAS by Robin Hostick
16 X 20 in.
This is a scene of primal forest in Oregon’s Devil’s Staircase Wilderness. The location is very remote, hard to reach, and even harder to move through. There are no trails, the brush is tall and dense, and the terrain extremely steep. Painting the fragmented light and complexity of ancient forest is a wonderful challenge, equal to the place. Here, the afternoon sun slants into the forest, barely reaching between the cool shadows. I can almost hear the elk moving through the canyon below.
Perdition Ridge No.2 is painted in acrylic on stretched canvas. The painting arrives ready to hang, complete with an artist-selected frame.
