Late morning brings tunnels of sunlight into the ancient forest along Rebel Creek, in Oregon's Cascade mountains. Early summer foliage glows in the sunlight among the trunks of massive Douglas fir, western hemlock and red cedar. Rebel Creek is part of the Three Sisters Wilderness, a tributary of the South Fork McKenzie River reaching high into the central mountain range. The original oil painting captures the freshness of color and light with a deft brush work.
